The Chief Magistrate Court 2, Iyaganku, Ibadan, within the Oyo state capital, has ordered the discharge of three members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) detained after arresting Iskilu Wakili, a Fulani chief.

The OPC members had on March 7 arrested Wakili and a few of his alleged fighters after a gun battle on the Ibarapa space of the state.

The Fulani chief has been accused of perpetrating prison actions alongside his fighters within the Ibarapa space of the state.

The state police command subsequently arrested and detained a number of the OPC members concerned within the arrest, accusing them of homicide.

The command stated a girl was burnt to demise whereas the OPC members had been trying to arrest Wakili.

The three detainees on Tuesday who appeared earlier than the Justice of the Peace’s court docket, presided over by A.O. Amzat, had been ordered to be launched three months after their detention.

They had been discharged and acquitted after the state’s Directorate of Public Prosecutions didn’t show to the court docket that the OPC males had been responsible as charged.
