Some aggrieved members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State have appealed to the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to instantly save the celebration from an imminent disaster.
The celebration trustworthy, who expressed concern over the gale of imposition of candidates throughout the APC forward of the July 24 native authorities elections within the state, mentioned Governor Abiodun, as the general chief of the celebration, should rise to the event and rescue it from the grip of self-serving people masquerading as leaders.
This was contained in a press release issued on Sunday, which was signed on behalf of the involved APC members by Sonuga Ramoni, a frontrunner and youth activist from the Ikenne Local Government Area of the state.
Sonuga alleged that the procedures adopted by some celebration leaders to decide on chairmanship and councillorship candidates in Ikenne LGA and several other different native authorities areas within the state had been fraught with widespread irregularities and barefaced fraud.
He warned that failure to redress the injustice meted out to many real and dedicated aspirants inside Ogun APC could spell doom for the ruling celebration within the nearest future.
Sonuga famous that although not all aspirants can emerge as celebration candidates for elections, the APC within the state would have been saved from unnecessary strife and agitation if the favored will of nearly all of celebration members and leaders was allowed to prevail within the choice course of.
He mentioned, “We have to let the entire world know that the procedures adopted by some leaders of the celebration in lots of wards and native authorities areas grossly fell wanting the directive by the governor for candidates to emerge both by way of consensus or primaries.
