The General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has taken a swipe on the Federal Government over its response to the deletion of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet thought of to be ‘genocidal’.
On Wednesday, Twitter deleted part of a thread posted on Buhari’s account, which many interpreted to be hate speech in opposition to Igbo folks.
While defending its motion, the tech firm stated the President’s tweet violated its guidelines.
However, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed organised a press convention the place he alleged that Twitter’s mission in Nigeria is suspicious.
The Minister accused Twitter of ignoring inciting tweets by the chief of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, and others, including that Nigeria wouldn’t be fooled.
“We have a country to rule and we will do so to the best of our ability. Twitter’s mission in Nigeria is very suspect, they have an agenda,” he stated.
But reacting in a tweet on Thursday, Apostle Suleman condemned the minister’s transfer, noting that there have been weightier issues that will require a press convention.
He stated, ”Schoolchildren have been kidnapped, no federal press convention addressed it. People are killed every day, no phrase of stern risk to the bandits. A tweet was deleted and also you had a press convention? Define joblessness! Many are mad (mentally sick), few are roaming.”
