Yobe Residents Groan As Bridge Collapse Cuts Them Off From Other Communities

Residents of Ngojin and Nahuta communities in Yobe State have cried out over the untold hardship they’ve been going through because the collapse of a serious bridge linking them to Potiskum, a well-liked city within the state.

As a results of the collapse of the bridge, residents have needed to typically depend on donkeys and different casual technique of transport to succeed in hospitals, markets and colleges. 

A resident of the world, Tikau Maria, mentioned that they’d been sending appeals to the authorities for pressing intervention however nothing had been completed until this second.

He added that the collapse of the bridge had affected their livelihood and different every day actions. 

He mentioned, “We have been talking and appealing but nothing has been done. We are appealing to Yobe State Government to intervene and rescue us from this increasing hardship.” 

The collapse of the bridge has additionally affected residents of different communities within the state together with Lafiya, Gadamaji, Garin Gote, Jajere-Anguwar Fulani, Njafuwa, Garin Ardo, Tikau Maria, Zamani, Gandafura and Farsawa.
