During the final sitting, lead counsel to Zakzaky, Femi Falana SAN, prayed the courtroom to rule in favour of his shoppers and dismiss the costs levelled towards them, saying there was no legal case established towards them to this point by the Kaduna State Government.

The prosecuting counsel, Dari Bayero, had offered 15 witnesses, who testified towards the defendants, amongst them had been two military officers, a retired director of State Security Service, law enforcement officials and a medical physician.

El-Zakzaky and his spouse have been in detention since December 2015 following a bloody conflict between his followers and troopers in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters reported on Tuesday {that a} member of the Resource Forum of the IMN, Mohammed Ibrahim, acknowledged that the members of group had been sure that justice can be served and that their chief, El-Zakzaky can be free of jail.

Ibrahim stated members of the group are patiently ready for the courtroom to ascertain a ”no-case submission” relating to the costs levelled towards their chief, who has allegedly been tortured and assaulted since 2015.
