Tension As Youths Kill Nigerian Senator’s Brother Over Land Tussle

There is confusion within the Ogriagbene neighborhood within the Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State after youths killed a brother to Senator James Manager, representing the Delta South Senatorial District within the National Assembly over a land tussle.

SaharaReporters learnt that the brother, Seleoge Reuben, was killed on Friday whereas visiting the Ijaw neighborhood, their hometown, to assert the controversial property.

SaharaReporters learnt that after Reuben was killed, different youths and the Senator’s supporters clashed, resulting in stress locally.

A witness stated there are fears of reprisal because the confusion had claimed some extra lives locally.

“Reuben, the person who was killed, is the instant youthful brother to James Manager, our Senator, who’s eyeing the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for 2023. This disaster has claimed another youths as we converse.

“We heard reports of reprisals with many people running for safety. The military and police are doing nothing to protect those of us, innocent people, caught up in the crisis.”

James Manager of the PDP  has been representing Delta South Senatorial district since 2003 until date.

“It was a dispute between the household of the Senator and one other household that felt oppressed by the wealth and political affect of the Senator’s household. This led to a struggle amongst the youths of each households that led to his (Reuben’s) loss of life on Friday.

“Unfortunately, both families fighting over land are even related in terms of ancestry,” one other supply informed SaharaReporters.
