He stated, “Some hoodlums within the Baboko space of Ilorin blocked the street this morning (Friday), stopping the free stream of visitors in protest of the incident of the arrested suspected cultist, who in an try to flee from the police, dived into the river near the scene of the arrest. The hoodlums took to the streets and blocked the street.

Eventually, he was rescued and taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead.”

Okasanmi stated that the state Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Bagega, visited the scene and directed a discreet investigation into the matter.
