The Osun state police command has confirmed the arrest of Malik Ayo who was stated to have been on the run because of the loss of life of his girlfriend, Faderera, after a rice breakfast.

It additionally disclosed that the rest of the meal consumed by the deceased and her pal, Kemisola, has been despatched to the laboratory for evaluation.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Yemisi Opalola, who spoke with journalists on Thursday, the runaway boyfriend has been arrested and is within the custody.

She added that Police investigation has commenced with the evaluation of the rice to know its content material including that the boyfriend can also be cooperating with the investigating workforce.

Vanguard had reported that Faderera Adewumi, a 300-level scholar of Mathematics Education from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti together with her pal, Kemisola visited her boyfriend in Iree and died after consuming a rice breakfast on Tuesday.

Her pal Kemisola, additionally survived abdomen pains was stated to have claimed that the rice was bought from a meals vendor by Malik, who initially fled earlier than he was arrested.

It was gathered that earlier than assist might attain the duo, Faderera had died and her physique evacuated to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Osogbo.
