Nigeria police have introduced the arrest of a suspected Chief Priest of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Imo State.
Police Public Relations Officer within the state, CSP Mike Abattam, on Tuesday mentioned the suspect, Ikechukwu Umaefulem, was picked up at his shrine within the Ikeduru Local Government Area of the state.
The police spokesman mentioned one pump motion gun, 5 rounds of ammunition, explosives, firecrackers, Biafran flag, and different religious gadgets had been recovered from the suspect, Daily Trust reviews.
Also in response to the police, the arrest adopted profitable raids on the camps of IPOB and its militant outfit, Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Similar arrests of individuals linked to IPOB and ESN have been made by the police up to now, whom IPOB denied had been their members.
