One individual was killed whereas 5 others have been injured when the Joint Security Taskforce working with the Borno State Geographical Information System (BOGIS) clashed with church members through the demolition of the Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) constructing in Maiduguri, the state capital.
SaharaReporters learnt that the EYN church members clashed with the state officers which led to the demise of 1 member, leaving 5 others critically injured.
The conflict occurred when the BOGIS officers, alongside a joint safety process power, went to the church over the regulation of land administration and concrete improvement measures, a few of which had affected worship centres.
Meanwhile, the Borno State governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, condemned the capturing and killing of the church member.

“The governor condemns in strong terms, the firing of gunshots by a member of security task force as well as some persons who hurled stones at the task force during an encounter on Thursday,” Zulum’s spokesman, Isa Gusau, mentioned, whereas commiserating with household of the deceased and injured church members.
The governor additionally known as on the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in Borno State, Bishop Mohammed Naga and spoke with him to commiserate with the Christian neighborhood and management and household of the EYN church in Borno.
Zulum invited the CAN management for assembly on the Government House in Maiduguri on Thursday.
