BENIN – FACTIONAL chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Edo state, Mr. Anslem Ojezua, has mentioned that the get together has misplaced an asset within the state with the resignation of Governor Godwin Obaseki from the get together.
Obaseki was final week disqualified from contesting the governorship primaries of the APC by the screening committee of the get together over discrepancies in his certificates.
Ojezua who’s the chairman of the faction loyal to governor Obaseki, said this yesterday in Benin whereas reacting to the resignation of the governor from the get together.
He mentioned, “It didn’t come to us as a surprise though I am very saddened by the development. I think APC has lost a huge asset,”.

” After he was disqualified, I suspected he’ll resign and after his disqualification, our leaders requested him to hunt one other platform to actualise his ambition,” he mentioned.
On whether or not he and the faction are going with Obaseki, Ojezua mentioned ” the state working committee is assembly tomorrow and after our assembly, we are going to make an announcement. But for me, I’ve tenure as a result of I used to be elected. I’m in Court over that and can be pursuing it to a logical conclusion,”.
On his half, Peter Aguele, Chairman, Esan South-East Local Government of the state, famous that Obaseki’s motion is what any democratic particular person will do as he was unjustly disfranchised, somebody.

But, for Owan West chairman, Mr. Frank Ilaboya, the governor’s resignation is a welcome growth following his disqualification to contest the get together’s main.

“We wish him well, he is our friend. He became a governor without following processes and others did the job for him, after becoming governor, he abandoned all those that work for him. We wish him well in PDP and we shall meet on September 19, for the election,” he mentioned.
Also, the factional chairman of the Oshiomhole’s faction, David Imuse, described the resignation as a welcome growth and good riddance to dangerous garbage.
He mentioned, “membership of political parties is voluntary, so he can go anywhere he likes, it is his constitutional right, it has no effect on APC,”.
On his half, the previous deputy governor, Peter Obadan, mentioned the governor’s resignation from the APC won’t have an effect on the fortune of the get together through the governorship election.
He mentioned the choice to resign from the get together was fully that of the governor and doesn’t require any formal software.
“If he thinks APC is not a spot for him, and you can not mix with the individuals, and you aren’t progressive, chances are you’ll take depart. I’m not blaming him.
