Nigerian Army’s Stray Bullet Kills Nine-year-old Girl During Kaduna Polls

A nine-year-old woman, Zainab Bala-Umar, has been killed by a stray bullet from a Nigerian Army personnel at Gwanki Ward, Makarfi Local Government in the course of the native authorities elections in Kaduna State.

Daily Trust quoted an eyewitness, Alhaji Yahaya Gwanki, who mentioned the stray bullet was discharged from a navy personnel on Saturday in an effort to disperse the group after the soldier was invited by a former chairman of the Makarfi native authorities who can be the candidate of the All Progressive Congress within the election.

The eyewitness mentioned the APC candidate, Alhaji Kabir Maiyere, had gone to one of many polling items underneath Fadamar Gwanki and whereas having a dialog with an electoral officer over some challenges of the e-voting machine, some youths needed to begin to shout, ‘ba na so, ba na so” meaning “we don’t need.”
