A middle-aged man, Babangida Eluemuno, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a dealer at Onitsha important market to dying at his residence, 9 Agba Street, Inland Town, Onitsha, Anambra State.

The deceased, Arinze Omeh, an adolescent from the Enugwu-Ezike neighborhood in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, was allegedly stabbed to dying following a brawl.

Narrating the story, Oluchukwu Omeh, Arinze’s brother, instructed journalists on Tuesday that hassle began when the suspect, a son to the owner of the deceased, instructed him to cease utilizing a brush meant for sweeping inside the home to comb exterior.

He stated: “On that fateful day, I returned dwelling with Arinze, my youthful brother, from the market.

“As we sat down inside the compound to relaxation and talk about our household issues, Babangida got here out and warned my late brother to cease utilizing the broom meant for sweeping the compound to comb rooms.

“In a reply, Arinze instructed Babangida that he had heard him as a result of he had already sounded this identical warning to him earlier within the morning, for which he gripped my brother.

“It was an attempt to rescue Arinze from the grip of Babangida that he used a broken bottle and stabbed him on the left wrist and while he was still trying to control the blood, Babangida again reached for his broken-down tricycle and picked up a knife.”

Continuing, Oluchukwu stated the response from the suspect angered his late brother who rushed in the direction of his course and landed a heavy slap on him.

According to him, he employed a tricycle instantly and rushed his late brother to the General Hospital however he was rejected by the hospital authorities over alleged issues.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, stated the incident was below investigation.
