Lagos orders contractor to fix Lagos-Badagry Expressway

Lagos State Government, on Tuesday, directed China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, CCECC, awarded the rehabilitation of unhealthy parts on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, to get again to web site with out additional delay.

The directive adopted public outcry over the deplorable state of the expressway, which has led to every day site visitors congestion at Mile 2 and environs, significantly on Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, impending enterprise actions in and across the nation’s seaports.

Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Egnr. Aramide Adeyoye, who disclosed this to Vanguard on Tuesday, mentioned the contractor had been summoned and given directive to get again to the positioning and begin rehabilitation of the unhealthy parts on the expressway.

Adeoye, who spoke by way of her Public Affairs Officer, Mr. Shina Odunuga, mentioned: “As I converse with you the contractor, CCECC, has been directed to rehabilitate the unhealthy portion of the street.

“The contractor, CCECC, was summoned today, (Tuesday), and after much deliberation was directed to commence rehabilitation of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.”

She added that authorities was not unaware of the plight the residents have been going by way of within the space, therefore, the pressing intervention by the state authorities to swiftly restore sanity and self-discipline.

Adeoye, nonetheless, didn’t clarify why the execution of restore work was delayed till the summoning of the contractor.
