Kaduna State University has launched a letter of enterprise to compel college students from protesting towards any increment of faculty charges.
The letter, which is to be accomplished and signed by mother and father or guardians, will guarantee the college that their “son/daughter/ward will be of good character/conduct and will obey all the rules and regulations of his/her Department and Faculty as well as the university at large”.
However, the letter additionally makes the mother and father pledge that their “son/daughter/ward should be expelled without warning if he/she engages in any demonstration/protest against the increment in tuition fees or any contrary activities of the university’s rules and regulation”.
Students of Kaduna State University on Tuesday, June 1st took to the streets to protest the hike in tuition by the state authorities.
The tuition was elevated from N26,000 to the brand new charges as scheduled within the pupil’s portal that returning college students can pay a flat price of N100,000 regardless of the course of research and indigenisation, the brand new college students, indigenes can pay N150,000 for artwork and humanities and N171,000 for sciences whereas non-indigenes can pay N221,000 minimal.
Also for social sciences, indigenes can pay N170,000, non-indigenes can pay N200,000. Indigenes admitted to check medication can pay N300,000 whereas non-indigenes can pay N400,000.
