The newspaper reported McAfee was pulled from his cell in Barcelona and police are investigating the circumstances round his loss of life. 

“Everything points to suicide,” the newspaper reported, citing justice division officers within the nation. A second Spanish newspaper, El Mundo, additionally reported McAfee had died by obvious suicide within the jail. 

Earlier on Wednesday, the Spanish High Court had agreed to extradite McAfee, charged with a number of federal monetary crimes in two districts within the United States.

In a press release Wednesday, his lawyer confirmed that McAfee was discovered lifeless in his cell and chided US prosecutors for his or her case towards him.

“John was and will always be remembered as a fighter,” lawyer Nishay Sanan mentioned. “He tried to love this country but the US government made his existence impossible.”

“They tried to erase him but they failed,” Sanan wrote.
