SECURITY businesses have beefed up safety in Asaba, the Delta State capital, following the hoisting of Biafra flags in some elements of the capital metropolis.

The Indigenous People People of Biafra, IPOB had declared a sit-at-home, tomorrow Monday as a part of actions to mark Biafra day.

The Vanguard {that a} mixed staff of Army and Police officers have been patrolling the capital territory, eradicating the Biafra flags hoisted by suspected members of IPOB.

Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Command, Sunday evening, issued an announcement warning members of the prescribed IPOB to maintain off the State, saying that the police wouldn’t tolerate any act of lawlessness within the State.

The Command in an announcement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO within the State, DSP Bright Edafe, stated; “the Command is conscious of the specter of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and their intention of parading themselves in some elements of the state.

“The Commissioner of Police Delta State who is set to keep up peace within the state has urged officers and males of the state command to be on crimson alert, watchful, and deal decisively with the troubleshooters.

“The CP, due to this fact, warns that in no way ought to anyone be seen carrying or hoisting Biafra flag in no matter guise within the state. The command is greater than ever prepared and decided to go after any miscreant who may be discovered wanting.

“The CP is urging members of the general public to companion with the police to see that those that attempt to deliver disunity within the state and our expensive nation be arrested and dropped at ebook.
