Armed males suspected to be bandits have kidnapped the provost of the College of Arts and Animal Science, Bakura, Habibu Mainasara, in Zamfara State.
It was learnt that the incident occurred within the early hours of Sunday when the assailants invaded his official residence inside Government Science Secondary School, Bakura.
The incident, which has sparked rigidity within the space, comes barely two days after bandits raided some communities within the Maradun Local Government Area of the state, killing a minimum of 42 individuals.
When contacted on telephone, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu, stated he would name again to touch upon the incident.
There have been a sequence of assaults on colleges, faculties and abduction of pupils and college students in Northern Nigeria.
Three weeks in the past, a scholar was killed and a minimum of 10 individuals have been kidnapped when gunmen raided the principle campus of the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Zaria, Kaduna state.
The gunmen kidnapped two lecturers and eight college students, based on Samuel Aruwan, the state’s commissioner of inner safety.
Aruwan confirmed that two college students have been shot; one died whereas the opposite was being handled in hospital.
