The police in Kwara State have stated they repelled a reprisal on the command when some gunmen, suspected to be cultists, invaded the formation on Friday.
The police spokesperson stated the assault got here after it had put a state of affairs beneath management earlier round Surulere, Baboko and Oja Tuntun areas of the state capital.
He stated two tricycles invaded the police headquarters in Ilorin, opening fireplace however they met resistance from the boys and officers of the command.
He stated, “We had gone to place a state of affairs beneath management this morning involving two cult teams and we made some arrests.
“These boys mobilised themselves and commenced to assault the police as a result of considered one of them jumped inside a canal in Surulere whereas making an attempt to evade arrest.
“We called the Fire Service to retrieve the body but the boys came to disrupt them but the police were able to retrieve the corpse from the cult guys later.”
