A roadside bomb planted by the Nigerian Army in opposition to Boko Haram insurgents detonated on Thursday, killing three troopers and wounding a number of others.
Military sources informed Peoples Gazette that the explosion rocked the doorway of 27 Task Force Brigade in Buni Gari after being triggered by a lightning.
Bodies of the three troopers confirmed killed within the incident have been evacuated to the army hospital, whereas those that sustained accidents have been receiving therapies.
The identities of the troopers concerned have been withdrawn to permit sufficient time for army authorities to inform their members of the family.
The Director, Nigerian Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, couldn’t but be reached for remark in regards to the incident, which got here because the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya, started introducing new measures to comprise the decade-long insurgency.
