Edo Pride brings indigenes, settlers together

To foster unity and nationhood, Edo Pride, a non-partisan platform, has been launched to rejoice Edo State’s wealthy cultural heritage, the monarchies, conventional establishments and people which have distinguished and excelled of their varied crafts and professions throughout the globe.

The platform, with the Instagram deal with @edopride, whereas figuring out the energy within the range of the ethnic teams in Edo State, the organisers mentioned, will spotlight the ethnic teams of Edo State: Edo, Esan, Afemai, Akoko-Edo, Owan, Ora, amongst others, together with non-indigenes who stay within the state, in live performance with their slogan— Edo is Edo.

According to an announcement by their Brand Strategist, Drew Uyi, “Edo Pride is open to all Nigerians, particularly anybody who has lived, labored, schooled or was born in Edo State.

“It is on record that anyone, who has lived or schooled in Edo State maintains an affinity with the state, even after he or she has relocated from the state. The reason for this is the cosmopolitan tendencies and openness of the people of the State.”

On his half, Ogbomoide Uyioghosa, who’s a part of the initiative, described Edo State as a state of the thoughts, the place tribalism is alien to the cultural and behavioural sample of the Edo man.

He mentioned: “This initiative was conceived because of the need to inspire the new generation, that the Edo mind is ambitious, results driven, hardworking, focused and honest.”

On future plans for Edo Pride, he mentioned: “A People’s Choice award for the Edo Personality of the Year, can be awarded yearly, to deserving awardees.

“The thrilling factor is that choice and votes can be by the individuals. We are optimistic that this platform will unite the individuals of the state and open everybody’s minds to our wealthy cultural heritage.

“We appeal to Edo personalities in the Diaspora and in Nigeria to identify with Edo Pride, given the rich cultural history and heritage that Edo State is reputed for globally.”
