Court Remands Masquerade Custodian, Others Over Murder In Osun

An Osun State High Court in Osogbo on Tuesday ordered {that a} masquerade custodian, Chief Kayode Esuleke, his son, Ifasola Esuleke and two others, be remanded.

They have been alleged of the homicide of a worshipper recognized as Moshood Salawudeen in a mosque.

The accused individuals, Chief Kayode Esuleke, Ifasola Esuleke, Akeem Idowu, and Kola Adeosun, who pleaded not responsible, have been charged on 13 counts bothering on homicide, tried homicide, malicious injury, assault, breach of public peace and interesting in a public struggle.

Justice Ayo Oyebiyi, subsequently, ordered that they need to be remanded in Ilesha Correctional Facility and adjourned the matter until September twenty first, 2021 for consideration of bail.

On June 27, 2021, some masquerade followers clashed with muslim worshippers at Kamarudeen mosque the place one individual was killed whereas many others injured and properties destroyed.
