Insecurity: Buhari bought 26 new aircrafts since 2015 ― Presidency

The presidency has maintained that in its efforts to comprise insurgency President Muhammadu Buhari has purchased 26 model new aircrafts since his election in 2015.

Fielding questions in a monitored programme on Channels Television, ‘Sunday Politics’ yesterday, the presidential spokesman Garba Shehu mentioned: “The army chiefs have been doing a number of speaking within the nationwide meeting, however I’ll cite an instance, we about receiving a dozen of Super Tucano plane that are best suited for combating the form of insurgency we’re confronted with.

Beyond that we even have purchased a couple of dozen, some have been delivered attacking helicopters from Russia and a few are nonetheless within the line of supply.

“When President Buhari came, this country didn’t have more than five aircraft, he brought 26, brand new aircraft, and about a dozen are on the way”.

Asked why the president was accused of nepotism, he added saying: “… that is an outdated story, was former president Obasanjo not accused of it, they accused president Yaradua and Jonathan. It is each authorities that comes that’s accused of nepotism. The president is aware of his duty to the structure and to the whole nation.
