Justice Gideon Kurada of the Kaduna State High Court has acquitted and discharged the chief of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem El- Zakzaky and his spouse, Zeenat Ibrahim who’ve been standing trial within the court docket for the previous 4 years.
In a judgement delivered on Wednesday, Justice Kurada mentioned the case was not proven nor confirmed by the prosecutor.
El-Zakzaky and his spouse, Zeenat, are standing trial on eight counts bordering on alleged culpable murder, illegal meeting, disruption of public peace, amongst others.
The defendants had pleaded not responsible to the costs most well-liked in opposition to them.
The couple have been in detention since 2015, after IMN supporters clashed with troopers in Zaria, Kaduna.
