Officers of the Nigeria Police Force have blocked the highway resulting in African Shrine, Ikeja, Lagos, in a bid to stop a gathering on #EndSARS protest from happening.
The assembly, which was organised by Seun Kuti, son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, was initially scheduled to be held on Tuesday on the African Shrine.
There are over 20 police vans with armed policemen current to stop individuals from accessing the venue.
Recall that the Lagos State Police Command on Monday threatened to shut the African Shrine if the assembly went forward.
In a letter to the Kuti household and supervisor of the ability, the police mentioned the programme was not allowed and might be tagged a deliberate motion to sabotage the restoration of peace in Lagos.
The police cited the current violence arising from the #EndSARS protest as its motive for ordering the suspension of the programme.

Reacting to the letter by the police, Seun mentioned he’ll go forward along with his programme however at a special venue.
