Borno, Katsina killings: We need more military action now or risk more carnages — Lagos Rep

Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Defence, Rep. Babajimi Benson has referred to as for extra army motion in troubled spots across the nation to cease the killings of Nigerians by insurgents and bandits.

Benson made the decision following the killing of over 81 and 40 folks by Boko Haram insurgents and bandits in Foduma Kolomaiya group, Gubio Local Government of Borno State and residents of Faskari Local Government of Katsina State respectively.

In an announcement to commiserate with the federal government and the folks of the States, the chairman who represents Ikorodu Federal Constituency of Lagos State within the parliament stated the loss of life of any particular person in Nigeria, particularly from insecurity, ought to be a supply of concern to all.

According to the lawmaker, it was disheartening that at a time the army was making positive aspects within the combat in opposition to the insurgents and bandits, the criminals might strike in these communities, killing folks of their massive numbers.

Describing the scenario as “very sad,” Benson stated the loss of life toll in each Borno and Katsina States in simply sooner or later was virtually one-third of the overall deaths recorded from the COVID-19 pandemic to this point.

“The scenario in Borno and Katsina States, and certainly different states affected by insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping requires decisive motion.
