Bandits Return To Abuja-Kaduna Highway, Attack Vehicles, Abduct Travellers

Gun-wielding bandits, suspected to be kidnappers, returned to the Abuja-Kaduna freeway to abduct dozens of travellers on Monday.

Recall that SaharaReporters had reported that the daredevil assailants had Sunday kidnapped unspecified variety of passengers and killed a well-liked Zamfara politician, Sagir Hamidu.

Daily Nigerian reliably gathered that the abductors returned to the freeway at about 4: 30pm on Monday, and shot stay bullets at motorists.

Sources mentioned the incident occurred lower than 5 kilometers away from the purpose the gunmen operated on Sunday.

A witness, Lawan Sani who plied the street instantly after the incident mentioned he noticed a minimum of 4 deserted autos with shattered windshields and flat tyres.

“There was serious commotion and panic around the area. Soldiers arrived at the scene almost immediately but the bandits briskly finished the operation within minutes and disappeared into the bush with many people.

“I saw an 18-seater bus belonging to Zamfara Mass Transit, a Toyota Yaris, a Volkswagen Golf and one other vehicle I could not remember the model. The vehicles were raided with bullets and without their occupants,” Mr Lawan added.

Spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, couldn’t be reached for remark on the time of submitting this report.
