2023: Igbo group tackles Arewa youth leader over power shift 


… says it’s the flip of Ndigbo

AN Igbo group, a coalition of southeast youth leaders, COSEYL, has attacked the President of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, Shettima Yerima over an announcement credited to him that the North will nonetheless retain the Presidency after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure in 2023, insisting that solely energy shift to the South East will promote nationwide improvement and belief.

COSEYL stated the likes of Yerima don’t want Nigeria properly and opinions from such individuals needs to be discarded.

According to the group, Yerima is meant to be a youth with free thoughts and love and unity of the nation and expressed disappointment over his positions on sure nationwide points, describing him as a harbinger of disunity.

The group in an announcement signed by its President-General, Goodluck Egwu Ibem, and the Secretary-General, Comrade Kanice Igwe urged Northern elders to name Yerima to order over his divisive declarations.

“We are involved over the assertion credited to some people from the North that energy will stay within the North after President Buhari.

“We are disillusioned that some individuals will place their private pursuits far above nationwide curiosity.

“In 2023, the Presidency should transfer to the South East. This is one of the best ways for coexistence as a united nation. It is just a President of Igbo extraction in 2023 that may assuage the stress within the zone and it’ll reposition the nation for greatness and productiveness.

“Igbos are blessed with women and men who’re clever, hardworking, the energy of character, and who carried out creditably properly within the earlier public places of work given to them. Such Igbos can reposition the nation for National improvement and prosperity. Is Yerima telling Nigerians that Nigeria is the property of the North?

“Our nation can solely develop and be on the trail of progress and nationwide improvement if we consider and belief each other. The Igbos have contributed sufficient in the direction of the progress of Nigeria as a rustic and subsequently should be appreciated and applauded by supporting them to get the Presidency in 2023.

“Though every other tribe has the constitutional right to contest for the office of the President in 2023, for peace, progress, peaceful coexistence and national integration, it is good the South East is supported and give the chance to produce Nigerian President come 2023”.
