Ross Edlund, the proprietor of Skillets in Naples, Florida, mentioned on the restaurant’s Facebook web page on Thursday that the gesture exhibits there are nonetheless “truly fantastic people in the world.”

“We have an amazing Skillets family that extends to our guests as well,” Edlund mentioned. “We couldn’t be happier to be a part of a community where this type of generosity exists.”

Edlund instructed the native newspaper, the Naples Daily News, that the client handed $10,000 in money to the supervisor of the restaurant final week, a day earlier than the state’s governor ordered the closure.

“We don’t know who he was yet,” he mentioned. “I’m making an attempt to determine it out.

“It’s funny because we have regulars who have been coming in forever, and they’re our friends but we don’t always know their names,” he mentioned.

“We know their faces, their orders, their favorite tables, but we don’t know exactly who they are.”

Edlund mentioned the $10,000 was evenly cut up among the many restaurant’s 20 workers with every receiving $500.

Edlund owns a complete of 10 Skillets eating places and he instructed the newspaper that he has needed to lay off 90 % of his 200 workers.
