Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has stated Nigeria should not lose sight of its struggle towards Boko Haram, even because the nation battles the novel Coronavirus illness (COVID-19).
Atiku disclosed this in a tweet on his verified Twitter deal with on Tuesday Night.
He stated, “The ambush and killing of scores of our gallant soldiers by terrorists in Gorgi Village, Borno State is a reminder that even as we are focused on the battle against coronavirus, we must never lose track of the Boko Haram war.”
Atiku, who was the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party within the 2019 Presidential elections stated his ideas and prayers are with the fallen.

On Tuesday, there have been conflicting stories relating to the newest killing of troopers in Borno State.
However, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) confirmed that not lower than 47 troopers have been killed by members of the Boko Haram terrorist group.
The Director of Defence Information, Major General John Enenche, who disclosed this throughout a session with reporters in Abuja, famous that Nigeria was in a fluid battle scenario whereas the troops have been on the front-lines.
Enenche defined that troops of Operation Lafiya Dole have been on clearance and preventing patrol operations to Gorgi in Borno between March 21 and 23.
“During consolidation, they (the troops) were ambushed by elements of Boko Haram terrorists. Sadly, we suffered some casualties in the unfortunate attack,” he stated.
